개구리와 황소
An ox went down to the water for a drink. Seeing him splash around,
two little frogs ran to their mother. "A great big monster almost
stepped on us!" said one of them. "Big?" said the mother frog,
puffing herself up. "Was he as big this?" "Oh, much bigger!" they
cried together. The mother frog puffed herself up more. "He could
not have been bigger than this," she said. But the little frogs all said
that the monster was much bigger. So, the mother frog kept puffing
herself up more and more until her belly burst. Do not attempt the
impossible.
황소 한 마리가 물을 마시러 물가로 갔습니다. 황소가 첨벙거리는 모습을 본 두 마리
의 어린 개구리들이 어머니에게 달려갔습니다.'어머니, 거대한 괴물이 우리를 거의
밟을 뻔했어요!" 한 개구리가 말했습니다. "크다고?" 어머니는 몸을 부풀리면서
물었습니다. "이만큼 컸니?" 작은 개구리들은 한목소리로 외쳤습니다. "아니요,
훨씬 더 컸어요!" 어머니 개구리는 몸을 더 부풀렸습니다. "이보다 더 클 수는
없을거야." 하지만 어린 개구리들은 모두 괴물이 훨씬 더 크다고 말했습니다. 그래서
어머니 개구리는 계속 몸을 부풀렸습니다. 배가 터져 버릴때까지요. 불가능한 일은
시도하지 마세요.
